- Abstract
The study compares the Finnish and Swedish national DRG groupers based on the NordDRG system. The aim of this study is to explore how differences in groupers, cost weights and outlier definitions affect the measured casemix between and within the countries. The data covers years 2005 and 2006 of discharge registers in both countries. Patient level data are grouped with the national Classic DRG groupers and a common Nordic FullDRG grouper. Classic cost weights are applied for both countries, to the data grouped with the national groupers and the equivalent FullDRG weights to the data grouped with the common Nordic grouper.
