The valid societal perspective: What should be included?

Chair: Guillem López-Casasnovas (Universitat Pompeu Fabra)

Session Description

Adopting a social perspective in health care economic evaluations is recommend although practical guidelines often prescribe a health care perspective (Johannesson et al., 2009). Crucial and yet unanswered question is: what are the limits of the societal perspective? To state it differently, should everything that people value be included? This session aims to present various case studies to discuss this question.
